Family Celebrations

Jace

My family celebrations are Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and many more. Personally, my favorite out of all of these is either Christmas or Thanksgiving. The reason that I like both of these holidays is because the food and my family getting together. The one that probably comes out on top is Christmas because God died for our sins and just seeing family get together is heart warming. Thanksgiving is up there to because of the mashed potatoes and pie. As you can probably tell my favorite food is mashed potatoes. The only problem with both of these holidays is how cold it is outside and the snow doesn't make it any better. Usually when we have holidays they are at our house because how open it is and all of my family can fit.

The other holiday that is one of my favorites is probably going to be Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I just read a book about him and it is just amazing how much one person could do to change the world. My favorite speech that he preached was "I Have A Dream" the reason that I say this is because how much that one speech changed humanity and the world. This may have been the main speech that everyone knows about but that doesn't matter because it still has impacts on everyone today. Martin Luther wasn't the only one that changed the world it was many others but he is probably one of the most known to others. It is just amazing how cold of hearts some people have in the world to kill one of the most amazing people in the world. Without Martin Luther our society could still be the same as it was when Martin Luther was alive. This is one of my favorite holidays for that reason.

  1. Hey, Jace I thought your post was amazing. I didn't know you could write so much about one thing, but it is great that you can. You wrote them both really good but just me personally I think the second one is the best. I loved how you expressed your feeling about what he did and how he did it. All together I love your post, keep doing what you do best.

  2. Jace, what a thoughtful and interesting post. The time and effort you put into your thoughts really showed.

I enjoy Christmas and Thanksgiving for some of the same reasons you said. I just love any time our family can spend time enjoying each other. We like to sing together around the table, especially the old hymns, and I always look forward to that. When we all pitch in together to make the meal, it is fun kind of work. We do a Jesse tree with all the different reminders of the prophecies about Jesus, and we do lots of fun things out in the snow.

Thank you for sharing the meaning of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to you. I'm glad he had the courage to stand strong in a peaceful way for what is right. I hope that my students and I will continue to live out what it looks like to treat all people equally and with respect.

    Keep up the great blogging!

  3. I agree when you said It is just amazing how cold of hearts some people have in the world to kill one of the most amazing people in the world. Many people died by trying help others such as, Malcolm X, or Gandhi . This is bad guys killing the good guys. Why people die with no reason?
